Drum Lessons

I have started to have drum lessons.

I have been playing the drums for about 6 years now and I thought it was about time that I started lessons. I used to have lessons in year 6 but they sucked so I quit them. I wanted to do grades and more interesting stuff, but the teacher made me do boring, repetitive beats that got me nowhere.

So I have found a place in Hanley called the Rhythm Roundry where I have my lessons with Matt the drum teacher. He is way better than my old teacher as he teaches me what I want to learn. HOORAY!!! :) I have a grade 4 book with all the songs I need to learn and a CD to help which also has the songs on it.

So I said that I wanted to do graded and he has started me on GRADE 4!! I was impressed that he put me half way to the top! I hope I will take the exam quite early because I have been practiing loads and want to get the top mark! (which would be a distinction).

I hope to continue to grade 8 and then I don’t know what! I’ll just see where life takes me.:)
